FIRE DANGER LEVEL moved to HIGH

The FIRE DANGER LEVEL in Central Oregon has been moved to HIGH. What does this mean? All fine dead fuels ignite readily and fires start easily from any cause. Unattended brush and campfires are likely to escape. Fires spread rapidly and short-distance spotting is common. High intensity burning may develop on slopes, or in concentrations of fine fuel. Fire may become serious and their control difficult unless they are hit hard and fast while small. Thank you to all those who helped reduce the Central Oregon Slash by bringing your debris to FireFree. The FireFree sites this year collected a total of 31,000 cubic yards of debris this year.
